KHD Protocol GPS Trackers: Port 5058 Wiring & SMS Guide

KHD Protocol Tracking Devices: Configuration & Installation Guide

Devices utilizing the KHD protocol (standardized on Port 5058) are widely used for professional fleet management due to their high reliability and rich sensor data. This guide provides the technical specifics needed for successful deployment of KG, VT, and T360 series trackers.

2. Technical Wiring Diagram (General Pinout)

While wire colors may vary slightly by manufacturer, the following represents the standard 4-wire to 8-wire harness used for KHD protocol devices like the VT600 or KG series.

  • Red (V+): Connect to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery (9V-36V DC).
  • Black (GND): Connect to the vehicle chassis or battery negative terminal.
  • Orange (ACC): Connect to the ignition wire to detect engine ON/OFF status.
  • Yellow (Relay): Connect to the Yellow wire of the relay for remote engine cut-off.
  • Green/White (Inputs): Typically used for SOS buttons or door sensors.
Caution: Incorrectly connecting the yellow relay wire directly to power can damage the tracker’s internal circuit. Always use the provided 4-pin relay.

3. Essential SMS Configuration Commands

To configure your device, send the following SMS commands to the SIM card number inside the tracker. Note: Default password is usually 000000 or 123456 depending on the sub-brand.

Set Server IP and Port

This tells the tracker where to send the data (use Port 5058 for KHD-compatible servers).

Set Tracking Interval (ACC ON)

Sets the device to upload every 30 seconds while the engine is running.

4. Quick Status Troubleshooting

If the device is not showing online on your platform, send the following query command to receive a diagnostic report via SMS:

CXZT

The device will reply with its current IMEI, GPS signal strength, GPRS status, and Voltage.

For more detailed integration with platforms, ensure the device is identified by its unique IMEI or ID sticker found on the back of the unit.
